The Rosmarinus Officinalis L, the plant where our Organic Rosemary Essential Oil is extracted, is a shrubby evergreen bush with green-gray needle-shaped leaves, and pale blue/lilac flowers. It is native to Asia, but is also grown in France, Spain, Tunisia, and Yugoslavia. The name is derived from the Latin word Rosmarinus, meaning sea dew, as it uses a lot of water. The Egyptians, Hebrews, Greeks and Romans considered Rosemary as sacred. In addition, during the Middle Ages it was used to ward off evils spirits.

Rosemary oil is an antioxidant, antiseptic, anti-cancer, and anti-inflammatory. Which means you can use rosemary oil to soothe inflammation, reduce muscle pain, and reduce headaches. You can also use rosemary oil to help relieve respiratory problems and treat coughs. Rosemary oil has also been known to help stimulate hair follicles and boost hair growth, along with soothing digestive issues and fight vaginal infections. Rosemary oil is also a disinfectant and can support oral health. You can also use rosemary oil to boost your memory, treat mood swings or other psychological problems. But if pregnant, suffering epilepsy, have hypertension or taking homeopathic medicines please avoid.

General: As with all essential oils, never use them undiluted, in eyes or mucus membranes. Do not take internally unless working with an expert practitioner that is qualified in clinical Aromatherapy. If being used during pregnancy please consult your doctor as well. Keep away from children. If applying an essential oil to your skin always perform a small patch test to an insensitive part of the body after you have properly diluted the oil in an appropriate carrier.
